What I do

Domestic electrical work, done properly and certified

From a single faulty circuit to a full house rewire, every job is tested, documented and handed over with the paperwork you need, whether that's for peace of mind, a landlord obligation or a house sale.

Mainly domestic work, with some commercial work in schools. EV charge point installation is not currently offered.

Meet Adam Jackson

Thirteen years of electrical work, and a straight answer every time

Hello there, my name is Adam and I have 13 years' experience as an electrician. I'm approachable and give clear communication to all customers to deliver electrical work that is safe and to the highest standard.

Jackson's Electrical Contractors is deliberately a one-person business. That means the person who quotes your job is the person who does it, and the standard never changes depending on who happens to be free that week. Qualifications behind the work include NVQ Level 3 in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment and a passed AM2 assessment, backed by NAPIT Approved Domestic Installer registration 79130.

Clear communication, start to finish

You'll know what's being done, why it's needed and what it costs before work starts. No jargon, no surprise line items on the invoice, and no being left guessing when someone will turn up.

Certified, notified and covered

As a NAPIT Approved Domestic Installer, notifiable work is registered properly and you receive the correct certification. £2m public liability and £250,000 professional indemnity cover sit behind every job.

One electrician, from quote to handover

Adam quotes the job, carries out the work and hands it over personally. No subcontractors, no rotating faces in your home, and no message getting lost between the office and the van.

Priced on the job, not on a guess

There are no fixed one-size-fits-all quotes. Small jobs are charged at a flat call-out price, larger work is priced individually, and quotes are free whichever it turns out to be.

Transparent pricing

Know roughly what it costs before you pick up the phone

Two of the most common jobs are priced up front so you can budget without a sales conversation. Everything else is priced individually against the job in front of us, and the quote itself is always free.

How it works

Four steps from first call to certificate

  1. 01

    Call or send the details

Tell Adam what's happening, a tripping circuit, a fuse board that belongs in a museum, or a full renovation. The phone is answered every day.

  2. 02

    Get a free, individual quote

The job is assessed and priced on what it actually involves, with the scope written out clearly so you can compare like for like.

  3. 03

    Work carried out and tested

The work is completed to BS 7671, tested on the day, and the property is left tidy. Larger jobs are booked in with a clear start date.

  4. 04

    Certification in your hands

You receive the correct paperwork, an EIC, minor works certificate or EICR, with notifiable work registered through NAPIT.

Where I work

Based in Fleet, covering Hampshire and the Surrey border

Being local matters on electrical work. It means shorter waits, quicker return visits if something needs a second look, and an electrician who knows the housing stock, from 1930s Fleet semis with rubber-sheathed cable still lurking in the loft to new-build estates in Farnborough.

Not on the list? If you're nearby, call 07828 148715 and Adam will tell you straight away whether he can cover it.

Common questions

The things people ask before they book

Are you registered and insured?+

Yes. Jackson's Electrical Contractors is a NAPIT Approved Domestic Installer, registration number 79130, and holds NVQ Level 3 in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment along with a passed AM2 assessment. Public liability cover is held up to £2 million, with £250,000 professional indemnity cover.

How much does an EICR cost?+

EICRs are priced by property size: £180 for a 2-bed, £200 for a 3-bed, £240 for a 4-bed and £280 for a 5-bed. Larger or unusually complex properties are priced individually after a quick conversation.

What does a new consumer unit cost?+

Prices start from £650 for a 6-way board, £800 for an 8-way, £850 for a 10-way and £900 for a 12-way. Those figures cover a straight swap in the same position; relocated or larger boards are quoted individually.

Do you charge for quotes?+

No. Quotes are free for all job types. There are no fixed package prices, every job is priced on what it actually involves, so you get an honest figure rather than a padded one.

Do you take emergency call-outs?+

Emergency call-outs are available on weekdays and some Saturdays. They are not available on Sundays, although the phone is answered every day.

Do you install EV chargers?+

Not at present. OZEV accreditation has not yet been obtained, so EV charge point installation is not offered.
